Launched in 2015, the GPU Hackathon program is designed to help scientists, researchers and developers to accelerate and optimize their applications on GPUs. Today, more than 1200 domain experts from premier universities, research centers, and high performance computing centers around the world have been trained and over 400 HPC applications have been ported in part or completely and optimized for GPUs.

The GPU Hackathon program is managed by the OpenACC organization, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping the research and developer community advance science by expanding their accelerated and parallel computing skills.
